Healing is Always God’s Will

There are some churches, which have gone astray. They may preach Jesus’s healing as a part of God’s love. But in reality, they themselves, such as Church pastors do not anymore believe miraculously healing by God.

Here is the letter written to one of the pastors from Nordic Chinese Christian Church.

Dear Pastor Shen

Blessings to you! I listened your preaching this morning. In the preaching you talked about Joosua, who faithfully follow God’s will and then you gave the example of a sister who got the corona and late stage cancer. She was preparing for death and the daughter was praying for healing, because she was affected by extreme Charismatic church, which emphasizes miracle healings. Your conclusion is that the daughter’s praying was not according to God’s will, therefore God did not listen to the daughter’s prayer and her mother died.

First of all, I don’t think it a proper example for Joosua’s case. We human being can hardly know what the God’s will is and what would be the end result for a dying person. To live or die, only God has the total authority. Not only that, her daughter prayed for her mother’s healing, which was out of love for her mother and was natural. Generally speaking, no one would want their mother to die. I think this love is very precious and should not be underestimated.

Second, God’s miracle healings exist, not only written in the Bible but also happen in the real life. I have seen many are healed by God and all these are impossible case. Some are cancer in the late stage and some are chronic diseases as well as one person lost consciousness in a deep coma. There is nothing wrong to pray for the miracle healing. Our God is the Healer. In the Bible, there are so many stories telling about healing. One extreme case is Lazarus Resurrected.

Third, one principle is if anyone is sick, we shall always pray for healing just like what Jesus did, though we don’t know the end result. However we need to hold the right attitude for praying healing, that is to give the total authority to God. No matter what happens, we need to trust God is good.
